Dr. Andrea Waylen BA Hons, PhD (R’dg)

Andrea oversees the teaching of Personal and Professional Development and Communication themes in the Dental School at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom. This includes the teaching of psychology, sociology, ethics, law and communication skills.

She completed her PhD in risky road user behavior in 2002 at the University of Reading. She then worked on the ALSPAC Longitudinal Study at the University of Bristol until 2005 and was responsible for many of the measures of risky behavior that were included in the study as the cohort entered adolescence. Between 2005 and 2008 she was a Research Fellow at Warwick Medical School working on parent-child relationships and child health outcomes. In July 2008 she was appointed Lecturer in Psychology at Bristol Dental School.
